The IP67-rated enclosure is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It is well-suited for wet grass, rain, puddle splash, and regular cart washdowns, but it is not rated for water jets or pressure washing: do not pressure-wash the battery or its terminals, do not install it where it will remain submerged or where standing water collects, and inspect it after any immersion.

Do I need to buy a separate lithium charger?

No. This is a complete kit and includes a 48V 10A onboard lithium charger with a 10 ft heavy-duty extension cord, along with a digital battery gauge, a remote on/off switch with wiring harness, a 12V converter, a cart-specific charge port plug, and mounting brackets. Do not use an old lead-acid charger unless it is confirmed and programmed for LiFePO4 charging, with equalization and desulfation modes disabled.

How long does it take to charge, and how do I plug in?

About 6.5 hours from empty with the included 48V 10A onboard lithium charger. The charger is powered through the cart’s charge port: the kit’s cart-specific charge port plug replaces the factory lead-acid receptacle (replacing it is required for safety), and the included 10 ft heavy-duty extension cord connects the charge port to a standard 120V outlet. If the charger stays connected, it restarts charging when the state of charge drops below about 95%.

Can I charge the battery in freezing weather?

an I connect two 48V 65Ah LiMAX batteries together?

Yes, in parallel only. Epoch lists this model for up to two batteries in parallel, which create a 48V 130Ah system for extended range. Use matched BB5165A-Kit-1 batteries of similar age, condition, and firmware, charged to the same state of charge, and install them according to Epoch’s configuration guidance. Do not connect them in series.
