The eCharge 48 Amp Level 2 delivers approximately 11.5 kW at 240V — adding roughly 30–36 miles of driving range per hour and fully charging most long-range EV batteries in 6–8 hours. For drivers of high-capacity EVs, households with multiple EVs sharing a single charger, or commercial and fleet charging applications where throughput matters, 48 Amps is the maximum output available in the eCharge line. Why 48 Amps

Vehicle onboard charger capacity varies significantly by make, model, and trim level. For vehicles that can accept high charge rates — many current long-range EVs accept 9.6 kW, 11 kW, or higher — 48 Amp Level 2 charging maximizes speed and minimizes the time the vehicle needs to be connected. For commercial applications and fleet operations where multiple drivers and vehicles share a single charging station, higher-output chargers reduce wait time and maximize utilization.

Actual range added per hour varies by vehicle onboard charger capacity and battery efficiency. Vehicle onboard charger capacity is always the limiting factor — a vehicle with a 7.2 kW onboard charger will charge at a maximum of 7.2 kW regardless of the station's output rating. The eCharge 48 Amp unit will deliver at the vehicle's accepted rate without issue.

J1772 Standard Connector
