The Pytes V-BOX-OC is an outdoor battery enclosure designed to house four V5 batteries providing 20.48kWh of total storage capacity. The cabinet features IP55 environmental protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, enabling installation in exposed outdoor locations without additional weatherproofing. The enclosure supports parallel connection of up to four cabinets for a maximum system capacity of 80kWh across 16 batteries.

Construction uses galvanized steel with corrosion-resistant coating suitable for coastal and high-humidity environments. The cabinet measures 25.4" × 15.6" × 54.9" and weighs 194 pounds empty. It requires floor mounting on a level concrete pad or suitable foundation capable of supporting the combined weight of the enclosure and batteries, approximately 582 pounds when fully populated.

The cabinet integrates a copper busbar system that eliminates the need for external battery interconnection hardware. The four batteries parallel internally through this busbar arrangement. This design reduces installation time and potential wiring errors compared to traditional external busbar configurations.

External connections to the inverter are made through terminals on the integrated busbar/breaker assembly. The cabinet requires appropriately sized DC cables based on inverter current requirements and cable run length. For typical installations, 2/0 AWG cables suffice for runs under 10 feet, while 3/0 or 4/0 AWG may be required for longer distances or higher current applications.

Thermal management relies on natural convection cooling without fans or active components. Ventilation openings are positioned to promote airflow while maintaining the IP55 rating. The cabinet design accounts for the heat generated during high-rate charging and discharging, with adequate spacing between batteries to prevent thermal buildup. When batteries utilize their integrated heating function in cold weather, the cabinet retains sufficient heat to maintain optimal operating temperature while allowing moisture vapor to escape.

Communication cables between batteries route internally through designated channels, maintaining a clean installation. The master battery's communication port remains accessible for connection to the inverter's BMS communication interface. A WiFi monitoring stick can be installed on any battery within the cabinet, though signal strength may require an extension cable to position the stick outside the metal enclosure for optimal connectivity.
